Citizens 4 Ed (C4E) is a Washington registered non-profit corporation and political committee founded and ran by a volunteer network of proactive citizens in support of the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District.

School districts are prohibited by law from actively promoting the passage of bonds and levies.  Financial resources of school districts can only be used to provide information and facts related to the ballot measures.  That’s where we come in …

C4E has actively campaigned in the District for years promoting the YES vote to pass our bonds and levies. Under Washington State law, bonds require a super majority vote (60% +1) and levies a simple majority vote (50% + 1) to pass.
How important are Bonds & Levies

  • Levies fund a variety of staff positions, operational needs, and enrichment programs.
  • Levies fund technology infrastructure, including hardware, software and professional development.
  • Bond dollars fund the construction of new buildings and the maintenance of current ones.
  • Bond dollars help ensure that space is adequate for reasonable class sizes. Our 2016 school bond passed with over 66% approval rating.

Committee Structure

Within the larger Citizens 4 Education Committee, a core team serves as liaisons by topic or target audience, dividing campaign tasks with subcommittees. If you’re interested in helping on a subcommittee, please let us know.
